That may seem like a very odd question. Certainly everybody knows that we need renewable energy solutions. The ecology of this planet is going to heck in a hand basket. Our oil reserves will soon be as extinct as the dinosaur and everybody is fighting against nuclear because they’re all afraid of being blow off what’s left of this rock. It’s not a pretty picture. But in case you’re not aware of all this, let me throw some statistics your way.

According to some pretty bright minds, the world will be out of oil by the year 2056. If you don’t believe me, you can look it up. Personally, I’ll be dead and buried by then (probably) but many people living today will still be on this planet in 2056. Then what? Do we just drill for peanut butter and hope for the best?

Now, to be honest, David Hume says we’ll never run out. But I place little trust in a man who’s been dead for over 230 years. I mean after all, back then we didn’t have the consumption that we have now. Heck, we didn’t even have cars, let alone trains and jet planes. No, I don’t think David Hume is a good yardstick to judge the energy crisis on.

But if you really need proof that the world has an energy problem, just take a look at all the wars that have essentially been fought over this very problem. Oh, make no mistake about it. All that hubbub in the Middle East is about one thing and one thing only…oil. And the US knows that it’s days are numbered as far as relying on other sources for oil. As a result, we’re in bit of a panic mode right now.

For these reasons and tons more, we need to focus on renewable sources of energy. Otherwise, we’re going to be reverting back to the days when we rubbed two sticks together to cook our barbeque ribs. Make sure you check out the report below. This is the most comprehensive and thorough ebook about how to save your electricity bills by building solar panels for your home.

Okay, the madness has to stop. This past summer I was paying over $4 a gallon for gas. Oh sure, now gas is back to under $2 a gallon, but how long until we see the damn break open again and the next time we hit $5 a gallon? We need to stop living in a fantasy world. The US has an energy crisis and it is quite real. We need to stop counting on the Middle East to supply us with oil or we’re going to be up the proverbial creek without the proverbial paddle. Great, so what are our alternatives?

Well, for starters, we have solar power. Solar power is essentially getting energy from our sun, which is certainly going to last a lot longer than the world’s oil reserves. Energy from the sun can be used to generate electricity, heat your water, light buildings and so on. The way it is done is through the use of photovoltaic panels. Don’t ask me how they work. I am NO scientist.

Then we have wind power. Wind power is generated by using a turbine. These are usually mounted on towers. They collect wind energy which can then be converted into electricity. This is actually a great source of energy because we are always going to have wind…sometimes more than we would actually like. If you don’t believe me, ask the survivors of Hurricane Katrina.

Another great source of renewable energy is water power. The great thing about water power besides the fact that it is renewable is that is produces no waste at all and no carbon dioxide. Waterpower, or hydroelectric power works like this. Water is held behind a dam forming an artificial lake. When the water is released, the pressure, which is quite great, spins the blades of a giant turbine. The turbine is connected to a generator which makes electricity as it spins. It’s that simple.

My friend, we need these renewable sources of energy NOW. If you want to discover how you can do this yourself and save hundreds of dollars a year in energy costs, check out the link below.

Solar Power Energy

Man, that is a VERY good question. I don’t know. Let me look outside and see if the sun is still shining. Okay, all kidding aside, the world is in a mess as far as energy goes. The oil reserves are slowly dwindling down to nothing and we’re all afraid that the next nuclear power plant is going to be our last one. The prospects for the future are not very bright. But just how bad is it?

Well, let’s take a look at some stats. In 1999, which was back in the days when we weren’t as bad off as we are now, the US consumed 95 quadrillion BTUs of energy. If that doesn’t sound too bad, they only produced 61 quadrillion BTUs. If you need me to do the math for you, that’s a 34 quadrillion BTU energy deficit. Now, I’m no scientist but my gut tells me that this isn’t good. Call it a hunch.

So the big problem is simple. We consume more energy than we produce, which means that we have to rely on other countries to keep our lights on and our microwave ovens running. I don’t know about you, but that thought doesn’t make me all warm and fuzzy inside.

According to a United States Geological survey, we have about an 80 year supply of oil and gas before it is all gone. While this may not have much of an impact on my date with eternity, there are going to be a great number of very cold and hungry people when that day comes.

Now, the big question everybody asks is, “Why don’t we just drill for more oil right here in the United States?” Well, if you ask one group of people, namely the environmentalists, they’ll say that it will basically screw up the ecology, to put it in less than scientific terms. I don’t know how true that may or may not be, but I’m not ready to take that chance.

That’s why we need renewable energy sources, and trust me, we have them. We have them big time, from solar to wind to you name it. And the wonderful part is, you don’t have to rely on your government to do this for you. You can put together these alternative sources yourself in a snap. I’m serious. This isn’t hard stuff.
